Service Description
Intermediate Adventuring – 3 Days, 2 Nights This takes outdoor learning to the next level. Compared to the Basic Camping course, Intermediate Adventuring emphasizes developing and enhancing leadership and critical-thinking skills with more activities and challenges. Kids will participate in planning and decision-making activities rather than just taking direction. Your child will: -Receive guidance as they plan, organize and pack their own rucksack. -As a team, participate in the adventure and route planning. -Swing across a small creek using the Cedar Ridge Rope Swing. -Hike a total of 4 miles, learning to identify risks, edibles, and other resources. -Build a homemade water filter. -Complete multiple team and individual challenges. -Learn orienteering over a short distance. -Start a fire. -Build a shelter. -Participate in team discussions about learnings and challenges. -Complete a staged real-life survival scenario, putting all newly learned skills to the test. *Meals, water and all necessary gear are included. Your child only needs to bring enough weather-appropriate clothing for an outdoor adventure and any personal items, toiletries, and medications needed for the duration of the outing.
